The rich history of County Wexford stretches back centuries, and Curracloe Beach, with its spectacular soft white sand, has long been a lure. Even famed Hollywood director Steven Spielberg fell under its spell, using it as a setting in “Saving Private Ryan.” All the while, a great golfing ground has been hidden, only a short stroll from the coastal waves crashing into the shore, just waiting to be revealed.
When Curracloe Links opens in 2026, it will create a new passage for golf in the Ancient East of Ireland.

Located less than two hours south of Dublin, and adjacent to Curracloe Beach, which is regularly voted “Best Beach in Ireland” by the readers of The Irish Independent, Curracloe Links is the heart of the newly developed Ravenport Resort. Locals boast this part of Ireland has the most sun in Ireland making it an ideal locale for seaside golf.

The Course

Greens that fit naturally with the fascinating landscape, compelling you to try to resolve their mysteries. A course unlike anything Ireland has seen before. That’s what the design team of Fry/Straka have in mind for Curracloe, which will be true to the history of the game in Ireland, with intriguing flourishes from the imagination of two of golf’s brightest minds.

About Ravenport Resort
Curracloe Links is part of Ravenport Resort, a luxury hotel with 50 rooms, a spa, and leisure club, which has a formal opening in the spring of 2024. The €20-million project is the culmination of a 25-year dream to develop a golf destination and resort that introduces travellers from around the world to the untouched beauty of southeast Ireland, one of the country’s undiscovered gems.
The resort will also include 22 golf cottages and a clubhouse that captures the best of classic Irish golf.

Our Designers
Fry/Straka Global Golf Course Design is a partnership with worldwide reach in award-winning golf course design. Having worked together for more than two decades, architects Dana Fry and Jason Straka bring their collective design experience, talent, indomitable spirit, and renowned client dedication to their shared enterprise, with global scope and limitless possibilities. Many of there designs have been highly acclaimed including Erin Hills (#42 – America’s Top 100 Greatest Golf Courses – Golf Digest), Devil’s Pulpit (#10 – Canada’s Best Golf Courses – Golf Digest), Acaya Golf Club (2009 Italy’s Best New Golf Club – Golf Digest Italy), and Calusa Pines (#69 in the U.S. – Golf Digest).

Dana Fry
With 40 years of experience in golf course architecture, Dana Fry brings exceptional multidimensional talents and prowess to each project.
“Fry is one of the most creative and successful golf course architects in the world,” writes Golfpass.com.
Following a successful collegiate golf career, Fry entered the field of golf course design working with one of the best as a member of Fazio Golf Course Designers, Inc. In 1988, Fry joined and eventually partnered with Dr. Michael Hurdzan in building a number of highly regarded courses in North America, including Erin Hills Golf Course, the site of the 2017 U.S. Open. In addition to his design work, Fry has worked tirelessly behind the scenes to help improve the industry. In 2001 he was selected as one of the Top 5 in Golfweek’s “40 Under 40” list of people in leadership positions most likely to shape the business for years to come.
Today, Fry is concentrating his efforts on projects around the world including Europe, the Mid East and U.S. as well as assuming a leadership role in the development of golf in the Asian market.
Jason Straka
An industry leader in environmental golf course design, Jason Straka blends his formal education, rigorous professional training and considerable design experience to produce a tradition of excellence. His education, philosophical approach and design experience have led to integrating a golf course both functionally and aesthetically into its surrounding environment. His development of Widow’s Walk Golf Course in Scituate, Mass. in 1995 was later recognized as the first environmental demonstration and research golf course in the United States. The efficacy of Straka’s environmental design philosophy is confirmed by the diversity and success of the projects with which he has been involved, not to mention their high public regard.
In 2010, Straka was rated by Golf Magazine as one of the most influential people in golf under 40 years of age and in 2021 he was named President of the American Society of Golf Course Architects (ASGCA). He was recently listed as “one of four architects you’ll be hearing more about,” by Sports Illustrated.
